more essential than David Ball on Damages !
Over the last 5 years I only battle against lawyers paid by the big business insurance industry.My practice is insurance breach of contract law and auto.I hold myself out as a trial lawyer because I do not accept the crap offers from the claims assessment software that every insurer uses to evaluate human life.To that end, in order to do right by your clients you must challenge the insurers of your clients or the people who harm your clients (we can not sue the insurer of the negligent driver directly)And you must be armed with proven techniques that work.That is what this book is, one of those books you tab, highlight, copy, reuse, a reference tool.This book is a must, an absolute must for anyone dealing with insurers in any capacity.It is chocked full of useful, practicable information that you can use right away.It teaches you how to teach a jury on what 'reasonable' means when they delay and deny meritorious claims.If you are a mill and settle every case without filing, accepting the low ball offers, not doing right by your client, etc., then just keep doing what you've always done and you'll get what you always gotten.But if you correct the injustices, fight for what is right, are on the side of society that helps people, not corporations, then you must by this book and use it. I have read all of David Ball's books, attended ATLA juror bias college, conventions, books on closing, jury bias, Jury Works, TLC, NITA, etc. and with all of that I found this book very useful.I refer to it before every deposition, trial, etc.I do not know the authors of the book, (I wish I did) but they are super accomplished trial lawyers.I speak from my heart on a book that will help people who care about people - and that means winning jury trials because that is the only check on our society.Remember what Thomas Jefferson said, "the right to a jury trial is more important that the right to vote."If you practice insurance bad faith law, auto law, or any law where insurance is involved, you must own this book.(...) ... Base Formula was successful
I am 50 years old and until my accident I have never had a wreck.I bought this book on Amazon.com about a year ago and followed it religiously to settle my claim.It worked.Thought I'd share this with others.
I'm so grateful to have this book
I just finished reading this book which my mother got me for Christmas.I had an accident a few weeks ago and was beside myself with worry over it.I didn't get hurt badly but my neck and back hurt a lot the next morning.My car wasn't so fortunate, though.

Great book to learn about car care.
Recently I attended a Saturday auto clinic that was held by a local repair shop. The technicians went over the basics of how to change a tire, inspect belts, check oil, and other general car care tips. At the end of the session I asked if they had any recommendations for a good book to continue learning about how to take care of my car. They suggested Auto Upkeep: Basic Car Care, so I bought a copy. I like how this book sticks to the basic things that I need to know. It is definitely a good resource to have.

Well worth the money
I am a high school tech teacher. I purchased this book as a resource for my junior classes. I am very impressed with the time and effort that as been spent on this book. If you are just starting out and want to learn more about your car than I suggest this book, you will not be disappointed. Perfect for anyone curious about cars.
I bought this book with my 16-year-old daughter in mind. Since she used half of her own hard earned money to make her first car purchase she is interested in knowing how to maintain it properly. She started asking me questions and I didn't know all the answers, so I decided to buy Auto Upkeep: Basic Car Care. I didn't want a book so mechanically complex that she wouldn't read it, so I'm glad I found this book! The pictures and illustrations are excellent. The author of Auto Upkeep simplifies complex automotive systems in a way that keeps her attention and mine. My 14-year-old son has also begun reading it! Read more

You have no idea
If you, or a loved one, have had an accident you really want to at least skim this book. It is all too easy to make less of the event, since acknowledging our lack of control over things is not our nature. Much of the damage is not visible, and can carry on a long time. Read more

Car accident claims
Not much help in my search for a book that would help me settle my car accident claim without using a lawyer. But then I found one that saved me over $3700.00 at http://www.caraccidentsecrets.com.The book had REAL examples and FORMS that I could use and follow. Was cheaper than this book also and saved me a ton of money....www.caraccidentsecrets.com was the best I found.

wrong information could loose you money

this is anoutstanding book to help build wealth!
I've read countless other books about saving, investing and spending. This is one of the best, if not the best book so far...please try these tactics, I do. Use some of them,They work ...WELL!

Simple and simplistic look at investing
A daily task or 365 ways to save money works if you can stay focused that long. Yet, this is life and one person saying they can do it doesn't alway work for other peoples money.Specifics other than an author saying me,me, me all the time is how I have learned to invest.

Satire and your money don't work

There is better information in other places
I found the book incomplete for my purpose. I had bought several books about this to SETTLE MY OWN CLAIM. There was not as much information on property damage or what to do when you have a CAR ACCIDENT.
Help Has Finally Arrived!
After much difficulty, I finally feel prepared and secure about handling my insurance claim. The book provided detailed information about my responsibilities and about all materials I need in order to negotiate and settle my claim. The book is easy to read and the author makes you feel as though he is sitting there talking to you. I recommend this book to anyone who is presently involved in a claim or anyone who carries insurance and may one day be involved in an accident.

Not enough info. on injury claims.
Mr. Smith gives good information on how to negotiate for the best car claim, but he is very misleading on how to settle a personal injury claim.He also is very biased for the insurance industry and only tries to steer you toward a small claim.If you want to know about a personal injury claim, this book in't for you. ... Finally, a clear explanation of auto insurance!

Easy, well organized overview of money saving techniques.
This book should be mailed in a brown paper wrapping to avoid insurance agents from finding out why their clients are becoming so knowledgable.Alan Abler has taken a complex profession and organized the automotive aspects into an understandable and logical way of looking at the industry in a way that can save us all a little cash.This book must be read by all automobile drivers and those who haven't are foolish.My wife and I have taken Alan's advice and are in the process of reevaluating our policy and setting up a meeting with our agent.Take my advice and buy the book.

Mr. Smith does a wonderful job of introducing the claim adjusting business within the larger insurance field. Items up for discussion range from job related risks to ideas for similar or related careers. For those who consider themselves in the preliminary career research stage, this is a fantastic first read. Not every question is going to be spelled out in black and white, but the adjusting business is all about putting the pieces together for yourselves!
