You will learn from this book if you are ready and willing to do the work
There is a basic rule in taking advice:Never take it from someone who has not achieved the thing you want to achieve. That means, if you want to be rich, you must learn to ignore people who are not rich when they spew their opinions at you. This rule has never been more relevant than now, when comparing these two men of great achievement with the envious, entitlement-minded people who are disparaging the book with ignorant, negative reviews.
Kiyosaki is a broken record
After reading this book and Rich Dad Poor Dad, I have come to one conclusion...Robert Kiyosaki is a broken record. How many times can I read him write the same sentance and paragraph- over and over again in the same book?Kiyosaki's portion of the book provides some surface information but little depth on how to become wealthy, eventhough he specifically claims that he wants to teach us how to become rich.His writing style is a bit arrogant and provides little value to a person wishing to learn about personal finance.I agree with previous reviews about this book being a cheerleader book.
Don't bother
I borrowed this from a friend so I didn't bother spending any money so at least I'm not kicking myself.However, like another reviewer stated, this is mainly a cheerleading session.If you really want something logical to read that involves personal finance and building wealth, read something by Dave Ramsey.The only REAL way you can get rich (without winning or inheriting money) is by working hard, paying off debt, learn to use a budget, stop borrowing money, and quit saying "I want it and I want it now."It's called common sense. ... Absolutely loved it
Me to We was a great addition to my book shelf although it won't spend much time there.This is one of those books that I will pass on to others.
A selfless "self-help" book...that actually works
I couldn't put it down. This book has everything you need to improve your life and the lives of the people around you. I've read other self-help books but they were never very helpful. Take work from your strengths
A fantastic book of weekness and strength, a human being is a mixture of weekness and strength equally and those among us who take work with thier strength come out successful regardless of the profession they are involve in, they can focus on thier strength rather than weakness, positive attitude regardless all the adversaries of a life. I learned a great deal out of this Marcus Buckingham book and I strongly recommend to the book lovers don't miss this one.

What a Novel Concept

Ok~ but I think the Keirsey Temperment Test is more accurate - and cheaper.
This book has its good points. If anything, it helps you put into words what you wantfrom a supervisor, but it is not very accurate. The online test does not account for a difference between when 2 of their options are both exactly like you, or if they don't describe you at all. This messes up the results, and it did not describe me very well. I am not just in denial. I have taken a lot of personality type tests, like the Keirsey Temperment sorter and have a pretty good idea of my strengths. So, although this book is pretty good in making you understand the importance of incouraging your strengths, it still leaves you wondering about how you fit in to their terminology.

Outstanding!
Dale Carnegie is one of the authors I have admired for so long. There are numerous reasons why this book is a classic one. He deeply believes that in every person there is good and you can approach it. Of course, there are many negative people who don't like this book because they see everything in black and white. Carnegie on the other side advocates a really delicate, positive and humane approach to everyone around you. It comes very close to "treat the others as you want them to treat you". I am sure that if everyone read and apply the principles in this wonderful book, the world will be a better place. I am sure that you will be pleased as well with his talent to really understand what drives people. Some of the key and basic motivators he discussed are sex and being important. His viewpoint is very close to the one of the bestselling author of scientfically guaranteed male multiple orgasms and ultimate sex. After all genius things are usually simple. Carnegie explores the human nature and common hot buttons together with the reader and gives you tools to manage and push them at your will with the help of numerous examples. I liked that the book is practical, easy and fun to read, and most of all that it delivers great value. I can not say the same for many other books. Definitely get a copy especially if you are a "good" person and prefer to treat people with respect and dignity.

Pretty Good
Yeah I was forced to read this by my boss...but it was quick and worthwhile.I am an experienced manager but I still picked up some valuable tips. This is worth while reading- short, to the point, and informative

Universally applicable!
This is one of my favorite books. It is geniusly simple, respectful and powerful. I was surprised to find out that I can easily apply the 3 principles in almost every relationship. So many people around deserve to be praised and taught a lesson and it is very important HOW you will do it because the final result can be very positive or just the opposite. It is a very valuable book which is very well written and is a fast read. I also highly recommend the other books from the One Minute Manager series because every book has a lot to offer and they will be especially helpful if you are in a business environment.

I am in a MBA program with little management background.I find this book to be excellent.It has tons of graphs with color and lots of case studies.It comes with an access code for you to get onto the website to take tests.If you are new to business I recommend this book.

Open YOURSELF up to a world of possibility!
This book was recommended to me several times, and I'm glad I finally found the time to read it.
Great title - not as good on the content
I finished a book last night - The Art of Possibility. Great title but not as inspiring as I had hoped. It did have one quote that I liked. A great maestro, Herbert von Karajan jumped into a taxi and shouted to the driver "Hurry, hurry". "Very good sir " where to?" said the driver. "It does not matter" said von Karajan. "I am needed everywhere".
It's what you want it to be.
I respect all the positive reviews here, but have a different opinion. For me, this book was like being trapped at a 2 hour meal in a restaurant with a couple I didn't like. If you already see the world in very positive terms, this book will verify your view in glowing new ways. If you're not in a positive place and are trying to get out of it by reading books with titles like "The Art of Possibility", it's not for you. At all. Does it help when people invite you to "cheer up?" Didn't think so. Imagine that x 100. Annoying.

Climbing Mount Everest: dangerous. Hitchhiking in Colombia: very dangerous. Leading through change: perilous. Perilous but possible, say Heifetz and Linsky in their encouragingly practical guide to putting yourself on the line and negotiating the hazards of leadership. As the authors acknowledge, many leadership books are "all about inspiration, but downplay the perspiration." This one doesn't. Leadership is always a risky business, but those risks can be understood and reduced. Effective leadership comes from doing more than the technical work of routine management; it involves adaptive work on the part of the leader, and a willingness to confront and disturb people, promote their resourcefulness, and engage their ability to adjust to new realities. But adaptive change always encounters resistance. Heifetz and Linsky examine four forms of resistance--marginalization, diversion, attack, and seduction--before presenting a number of practical resistance-response skills to nurture and employ. Some are fairly obvious (like developing and maintaining perspective, and holding steady in the midst of change), and others more complex (like thinking politically when dealing with friends, foes, and fence sitters), but shimmering nuggets of insight and practical wisdom can be found in each. The dangers of leadership also spring from within, however, and the book's final section addresses ways to recognize and manage competing "hungers" and learn to distinguish one's roles from one's self. The authors' points are illustrated by the experiences of leaders from all walks of life, making this a useful and inspiring manual for anyone hoping to put themselves on the line and make a difference in the lives of others. If you're a leader . . . soak in this book
Let's face it: leadership is dangerous. As Heifetz and Linsky write in their introduction, "Each day brings you opportunities to raise important questions, speak to higher values, and surface unresolved conflicts. Every day you have the chance to make a difference in the lives of people around you. And every day you must decide whether to put your contribution out there, or keep it to yourself to avoid upsetting anyone, and get through another day. You are right to be cautious. Prudence is a virtue. You disturb people when you take unpopular initiatives in your community, put provocative new ideas on the table in your organization, question the gap between colleagues' values and behavior, or ask friends and relatives to face up to tough realities. You risk people's ire and make yourself vulnerable. Exercising leadership can get you into a lot of trouble."

Helpful Insight
I've been on a leadership book kick lately, and this is one of my all-time favorites. It's short, easy to read, and is one of the best explanations of cognitive dissonance for the layman I've ever seen. It doesn't work for everybody though - some people are turned off by the "fable" format and simple writing style. I still find it very helpful, and it's the kind of book that can have a dramatic impact on some of its readers. It certainly does a good job of making the point that by focusing on our own behavior we can make any situation better.

Not About Leadership
This book is not really about leadership.It is about being nice to people.And remember, any problem you have with another person in life is your fault.So, apologize, start over, and be nice.

Great Book
Great book, although the ones finding it are probably on the prosperity path already.Anyone in recovery or working a 12 step program could benefit from this information. Read chapter 5 of this book with the 11th step. This book can help you go from dumb, sick and broke to smart, well and rich.

WISE SAGE IN-YOUR-FACE WISDOM
Randy Gage is the acknowledged master of in-your-face wisdom. His new tome does not disappoint the reader and is loaded with insightful rants from a professional speaker and marketing guru that is known for giving brash, blunt advice delivered with a holier than thou attitude.Readers would be wise to ignore Mr. Gage's critics and in-your-face style of being and doing and read the book cover to cover with a open mind. Last time I checked Mr. Gage's bank account was in the seven figures and the yellow Viper you see on ghd book cover really is parked in his garage. This book can identify to all categories of people and how they react to change.I think at some point I have played all roles when someone has moved my cheese.I think I should read this book on an annual basis to remind myself of which mouse I would like to be.

Confrontational, enlightening but too simple
This book uses two mice and two little people who look like mice to make a serious point.How do you respond to change?In Who Moved My Cheese?, we see those who immediately seek a new viable option, those who move forward only when a situation is life threatening, and those who refuse to budge.Isn't this what we see in everyday life?My biggest concern about this book is that the question provided to deal with the fear that stops us from moving forward is "What would I do if I wasn't afraid?" This is an example of repressive coping, and does not deal with the reason for the fear, and does not resolve the fear.To learn how to best deal with troublesome feelings that stop us from making the most of our lives,I recommend Optimal Thinking: How to Be Your Best Self.I recommend each of these books.

This is not a terrible book- it has some interesting case studies which the authors use to prove their points. However, there is not a great deal in here that is new if you've read the sequel to this book first ("Beyond the Core", Zook), and have read other
Very Realistic and very useful
This book is very good, it explains very clearly the different growth concepts with clear definitions, and a very interesting growth matrix. in addition, unlike other books, this book uses a lot of real world examples to illustarte the different concepts and growth startegies. It explains how companies, that succeded, evolved from their core business and developed new products without getting lost in the process. Also, explains why and how some companies failed. The book is realistic, and gives you some tools and matrix that you can apply when analyzing and developing a growth strategy. successful manager's review
i gave this book 3 stars because of the size. although, it is very helpful in many ways, i feel that the writers of this book could have condensed a bit more. other than the size i feel some of the page space was wasted on repetition. that is basically it.
