Leader's Guide To TransformAn Enterprise For Learning
Purington & Butler do an outstanding job of providing a systematic approach to managing positive change in training & development.The book is full of very specific & useful recommendations to upgrade an organization's culture cost effectively and gain competitive advantage in its ability to learn quickly.It shares many examples of what worked well along with a few examples of flexibility with plans that needed to be changed.The only negative to the book ... and it is only a minor negative is that it sometimes repeated some of the examples.If you are in a training department, are in a position to influence or approve a training department's strategies or are selling & marketing to the training & development market ... this is a must read!!

This collection of 15 papers is written, with a few exceptions, primarily for an academic audience and to academic standards. Although it covers very similar territory to that in Syd�nmaanlakka: An Intelligent Organization, it is much less approachable for the general managerial reader. On the other hand, the individual articles go into substantial depth, with a wealth of references. Overpriced and without focus
Note that the book is EDITED by Elias G. Carayannis, and two of his colleagues, and that it is not entirely written by him. Only one of the chapters is written by Dr. Carayannis. Each chapter is written by a different author, so the book is more of a collection of writings and/or cases. If you are expecting a textbook that methodically discusses the components of Project Management, this is not the book for you. Some of the chapters have poor grammatical usage (See Ch. 4). Overall, it is a decent complementary PM book - not one that will provide definitions or basic concepts, but rather analysis and discussion on PM topics. ... Read more
