Densely Packed with Career Wisdom
Put down the highligher. Every page in this book is packed with amazing words that promise to jump start you into a bigger salary and a true sense of self-worth. This book is not just for young career-minded women. It truly is for anyone wanting more for themselves. It reads effortlessly and has a genuine tone. Who ever thought a book of this genre could be a page turner? Incredible wisdom...makes me think Ms. Williams is in her 90s not her 30s.:)

Investing in Myself
I love the idea of investing in yourself, even if it means going into debt for a little bit - I'm a commodity worth investing in and this book has given me the courage to see that. A completely different way of looking at career success and money.

Business Week calls it right
This book is truly "well-written and engaging" and "big-picture focus(ed)" as described by Toddi Gutner in her article in Business Week.Her review of the book peaked my interest and I found What Every Successful Woman Knows every bit as insightful as she stated.However, I believe that the suggestions offered, rather than being time consuming, are a challenge that will help me focus and, in the end, free up my schedule.

If you gave up children for your career, you are not qualified to review this book. If you gave up a career to have children, you are not qualified to review this book. This issue is far, far too fraught with emotion for anyone who falls into these two categories to provide an unbiased analysis of the material this book covers.

I never wanted children. Because of the insane hype surrounding this book, I thought I was "safe" when I turned 40. I got a little sloppy with the birth control. Now I'm eleven weeks pregnant with my first child.

A Helpful book
I'm married to an American and was not familair with US laws and customs regarding working while pregnant and the maternity leave regulatons.This was the only book that I discovered to help me go through the process thouroughly.I recommend it to your readers quite highly.

Finally!!
This book should be required reading not just for every woman who works through her pregnancy but also bosses and co-workers!The best part for me was how and when to tell your boss because that was the most nervewracking step.The author also offers great advice for dealing with all the symptoms we deal with while pregnant and gives advice for dealing with rude/insensitive comments from co-workers. (I know they mean well but if one more person rubs my belly, so help me!!)Read more

Well Done
This book is about the growth of the garment workers' unions and the place within that growth that the Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe took.It was well-written, well-researched.Were I a history professor looking fora informative additional text regarding the turn of the Twentieth Century,I believe I would put this book on the top of the list.

This book has great information.
This book has great information in areas of how to manage the kids, the job, and keep your sanity. What I enjoyed about this book was that it mixed research as well as prepares you with a bit of real life situations you might stumble across.

As a newbie to the WAHM world, I really enjoyed this book and found it helpful and encouraging. Cheryl has such a great sense of humor - I loved all of the analogies she uses throughout the book and the stories she shares about her kids, who are pretty funny, too. She reassures you that being home with your kids really is worth it - whether you are stressed out or haven't seen the light of day in weeks. A sexist and sad book
Why women should buy this book? Are they really in need for this kind of "confidence boost" or we already know that women can compete head-to-head with men? We are leaders, yes - now hear us roar!
This is a wonderful book that should bolster the confidence of all the women who read it. But I would add one very important item: women show far too much humility about their talents and skills. If we want people to value our skills, we must first show that we value ourselves - by making sure our accomplishments are visible to targeted audiences. If we want people to hire us, buy from us, and invest in our companies, they have to know who we are, what we have accomplished and why they should do business with us! Self-promotion is not bragging. It is a valuable business tool that careerwomen must add to their strategies for success.

Why the Best Man for the Job is a Woman
Save your money!The authors hopelessly biased style and language is a big turn-off.Any useful information is obscured by the overly general "truths" about the innate supperiority of women to men.I found this book to be a BIG dissapointment.There are much better books out there that offer similar substance with a more positive and believable tone.Get one of them! ... One page--even one idea--can be worth the cover price
I've just begun reading this, after picking it up and seeing answers to some of my own dilemmas in its pages.She says things with finality, and I don't always agree with her.For example, I like to think that, someday, I WILL drive a Jaguar.But, that said, when she talks about letting go of things that haven't worked in the past, and moving forward to a better future filled with achievable goals... this is a very good book for people who are depressed or otherwise feeling "stuck" in life.If you don't actually buy a copy yourself, ask your library to order it.

This is a very inspiring book. When I initially started reading, it felt like just another feel good book with general advice. However as I progressed it picked up and became quite interesting.
