Sorry, but it was disappointing for me.
I did not find ANY thing there that are new for me. All information was VERY basic. The Best
I left school about 18 years ago armed with a copy of this book.The book helped me get offers or at least second interviews in about 75% of my attempts. From my experience, you'll do quite well in the interview if you take the author's advice.You'll actually feel positive energy flowing during the interview if you are using the techniques from the book.

Good, but Zig's has better to offer
This tape is apparently a combination of at least two presentations (Zig's voice tone changes noticeably, and his verbal outlining is interrupted).This is a very short overview of Zig's philosophy, and might be a goodintroduction to his work.Yet it is too rushed and is presented at thesurface level only.As a result, it just does not have the impact we havecome to expect from one of the great motivational speakers.I recommendyou spend just a little more for the "Success and Self-Image"tapes.For those of you who already have those tapes, you do not need tobuy this one.

How To Be A Winner
If you really want to learn what it takes to be a winner, this is the audiobook you should listen to.Excellent tape for your children to listen also, if they learn this concepts early in life they will learn what theyneed to do on a regular basis in order to excel in whatever they choose todo.

Practical advice from Townsend
Several insightful and practically applicable info, almost all from Townsend. Theoretical info provided by Bennis is of little use. Some useful advice includes: (1) how to select leaders and (2) protecting your groupfrom unnecessary busy work from the top (3) delegate when someone can dothe job 50-70% well and (4) promote from within

The authors of this interesting work explore a new leadership style suited to the new characteristics of organization and the direction leadership is taking today. The ideas are presented as a lively dialogue between Bennisand Townsend; this format may appeal to some and turn-off others. While wefound it added some pizzazz, at times it gets in the way of the content.The book covers such topics as: developing leadership traits, the personalside of leadership, empowerment, and choosing a leader. Also included is aself-development plan. The number of books on leader seems to be infinitebut this is one that is informative and worthy of your time. This book is for someone who had tried but failed to lead his people to excel.It could be very inspiring to those people if they have the wisdom to pick the good points from the book and create their own style, they would rate it 10(best).But if you had read the earlier (80's) books of Townsend "Further Up/Up the Organisation" (which I rated 10+), you would rate this one 1(worst). ... The first book to read on the climb
"How to become CEO" should be mandatory reading for anyone considering climbing to the top.I agree with almost all recommendations in this book.That is why, I must have given at least 20 copies as a present.The best part is; you can go back and read the chapters randomly once in a while to refresh the basic rules.I have also read the other books of the author, liked most, but this one is by far my favorite.

Excellent Book
I recently bought this book....I will recommend it to all the ambitious people out there. This is an awsome book....I am very impressed by all the things author has listed in the book.

The book is a quick read and offers practical advice.It's a good place to start if you are thinking about a change.It's not a resume writing book or 10 steps to the job of your dreams type of book.

I read Amazon's excerpt and a couple of recommendations I thought I could trust before buying this book.It's worthless, obvious, hype-yourself-up, tired "advice."I resent that it is not worth the cost of shipping to return this book to Amazon, because I would otherwise do so.It doesn't rate space in my collection of thousands, nor would I give it as a gift to anyone I wanted to keep as a friend.I don't believe it would be of any actual harm, but I wouldn't want to waste their time.I'm donating the book - perhaps it might help someone who has lived such a stunted life they don't already know this stuff. ... Dawson goes over many concepts that are common sense such as realizing the qualities of a good decision-maker, finding categories for decisions. I found it helpful for students taking courses on general OR/MS. The author provides a guideline to categorize the decision problems. Is it a problem or an opportunity you must decide upon this distinction is important. Do you really have to make a decision at all?

A good place to start reading about leadership
Leadership books remind me of cooking, there are a finite number of common ingredients that make up the majority of dishes, but there seems to be an infinite number of ways to combine and present these ingredients.
Not so innovative
Maxwell's concepts of what a leader is is quite accurate.However, I don't think he needed to spend over 200 pages to define what a leader is.That's what this book came to be: one long, repetitive, obvious definition for leadership.I didn't see these as laws so much as nuances of what he'd already said.

Good Encouragement to Look Differently at Your Work!
Graves and Addington have written an excellent book on encouraging Christians to view their work as a calling from God. God wants us to work, be goodand rest - the end
I guess I was not moved like some of the other readers of this book. I listened to the audio tape numerous times trying to understand the "movement" around this book. I spoke to other reader's as well and what I got was God wants us to work, represent his image at work and rest. This is not revolutionary or eye opening to Christians that walk in his light. The examples are predominantly Chick-fil-a and the founder of Chick-Fil-A has written his own book, "It's Easier to Succeed than Fail". There are many better books on Christian beliefs in the workplace. Try anything by Laurie Beth Jones for example.

Samuel Pepys' Pepys' Diary is an outstanding classic which comes to life in audio cd format, narrated by Kenneth Branagh whose background in film and direction lend to a vivid narrative indeed. Pepys' classic has lasted centuries because it records in vivid descriptions the bygone world of 17th-century London life: this vivid written word in turn translates well into audio and brings a rich history to life.
