Very smooth flowing. Very charming and informative. I've listened to it three times in a month. Definately a must have for wanting to network.

5-0 out of 5 stars How to Connect in Business in 90 Seconds or Less
Interesting and fascinating - very easy to follow - good examples and exercises. One of the best books on rapport building and the use of NLP. Lots of useful other goodies.Bravo!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book!
I am only half way through this book, but in the two days I have had it, I have not been able to put it down!It is incredibly eye opening and I find myself following Boothman's advice already in my everyday interactions. This book is well worth a read. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Cultivating Harmony At Work
After much success with his first book in collaboration with the Dalai Lama, The Art of Happiness, Howard Cutler decided to write another book. In this book Cutler wanted to explore some ideas and topics not touched upon in the first one. Namely, since work takes up an overwhelming amount of the day for most people, how can we find happiness at work? After all, most of us cannot sit around all day in a cave without venturing out into the real world. If we have no practical way to take our spiritual practice into the real world then what good is it?
3-0 out of 5 stars Art of happiness
OK, but just OK.Slow, tedious to read, but good input into how to be satisfied at work.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Guide to Satisfaction and Happiness
Using the concepts presented in the Art of Happiness, this book explains how to apply the concepts specifically to the workplace. Not everyone has the "dream job" but what you make of your job and your life is what you will reap from it. Use this guide to be more content with your job and your life and recognize that personal contentment/happiness trumps money, power and prestige. Although this book is inspired by a Buddihst monk, there are no confilcts with any Christian ideals or concepts. Rather the techniques presented here are echoed in Christian thinking. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars the high road and the low road
Provides a useful analysis of the place and significance of knowledge management in the development of business and society, though it is limited in the range of societal implications that it considers. The book is wellorganised, with sound definitions (in a muddy field), a formidable array offacts and good analysis. The explanation of the 'knowledge foundation'(Ch.7) is particularly valuable. 5-0 out of 5 stars Required reading
Wow, this book should be given to every graduate entering the workforce along with their diploma. Not just about cards, but also contains business etiquette, marketing tips and techniques, and (un)common sense. Wish I had read it 20 years ago. Required reading for pretty much anybody who has to go out into the world and deal with another person.

5-0 out of 5 stars SOME EXCELLENT IDEAS IN AN EASY-TO-READ BOOK!
If you are looking for some good ideas on using your business card to find (or stay in touch with) customers, this is a perfect book for your library. It's a fun read, and you'll probably think over and over "why didn't I think of that?" However, if you know everything there is to know about selling (or think you do), this book probably is not for you. For the small amount of money this book costs, you'll get the price of the book back many times if you just put one or two of the ideas to use.In that respect, it's a real bargain.I saw the positive review the Washington Post gave this book.It certainly lived up to my expectations. I liked it.

2-0 out of 5 stars It was Okay - That's the best I could do...Just Okay
I agree with a previous reviewer who stated "It was too basic...this is stuff any college kid would know."However, that being said, one can't just start in the middle of a topic and write a book.I thought it was more like reading a business cards for dummies edition type book.If you are new and starting out in the business world and never owned a business card, then you should probably read this. Not to say I didn't find a few useful tips, but this book certainly hasn't turned my business upside down or changed my life as the editiorial reviews would lead you to believe. Those reviews were probably written by close friends and family.

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't Miss Out On What Others Obviously Have
Let me start by saying I am not just a huge fan of this annually updated guide book, I am an example of someone who actually "used" it and has benefited greatly by doing so (in other words, I found the work I was meant to do and have been enjoying it now for over five years!).
3-0 out of 5 stars Satisfied
I had to order this book for a class and I have yet to read it through but others have told me its a great tool to have when exploring your career options.

1-0 out of 5 stars the elitist BULLCrap novel, don't believe what you read....
I worked for a name/ego that was highlited in this book.
2-0 out of 5 stars Not enough....
I was a subscriber on Albion's e-mail list some years ago. I bought this book expecting more depth than what the list had. I was looking for a book that would really show how people make hard choices and focus their lives in alternative paths.
3-0 out of 5 stars Condescending Dribble
I found this book to be very condescending in the way that it was written.I listened to the audio cassettes and stopped listening after the first cassette because I felt like I was being talked down to because I had not given up everything in life to go live in a eskimo community or in Africa figthing AIDS in some tribe that lives in the Nigeria.

3-0 out of 5 stars DIANAS WOES
I really liked this book but it talked more about Diana and Charles Marriage and Diana's childhood than the boys. It was good but I think that it should have talked more about the boys than their marital woes and about members of the royal family. If it didn't emphasize so much on the royal family and the maritial woes, and talked more about the boys, it would have been a better book. Certain parts of this book was similiar to Diana by Andrew Morton

2-0 out of 5 stars To Much Re-hashing; Not Enough About the Boys
Frankly, I'm tired of the re-play concerning Diana's alleged antics. If I read one more time about her alleged comments to Tiggy or her alleged harassment phone calls to Oliver Hoare's house, I think I'll scream.
2-0 out of 5 stars Princess Di and the Younger Men in Her Life
Anderson's book is 342 pages in length and it's a decent primer for those who know very little about the sons of the world's most famous princess. Anderson stays focused on the boys, for the duration of the book, talking about the relationship between William and Harry and the important people who influence them.

5-0 out of 5 stars Life Changing!
Myself and three other friends read this book together in college and I can confidently say that it changes the entire direction of my life. Jones takes you through the necessary steps to write your mission statement. It was clear and easy. Once you know your mission statement decisions are so much easier to make, regarding the direction of your life. Does this task align with my overall mission or not? In the age of busyness and trying to constantly align our priorities, this is a very important starting point to this never-ending challenge.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Good for Personal Mission Statements!
For some time I struggled with the idea of developing a mission statement for my church and for my own personal life. With Jones' help, I now have a much better grasp of how to approach the subject privately and publicly. The author is easy-to-read and follow, yet offers profound insights into just what a personal mission statement is.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sales Strengths
It is worth reading for both with or without the sales profession. In this sales process you come first, than your product, tangible and intangible both than your strengths of presentation, how you present it as your buyer is your decision maker also and he/she can size it up in first 15 seconds whether they will buy it from you or not, the rest will be history. A sales is a tedious process and it has many layers to open up first, before you finally close it, no matter what happens in between that, your positive attitude and a smiling face should be there with all your matching body gestures. The beauty of this book is the writer's own selling strengths and skills were high in it and he made the tedious process simple and interesting.
5-0 out of 5 stars Must-read for anyone in sales
This short work debunks some of the most dangerous myths about the business of selling and will open your eyes to new and unexpected facts of sales life. Many salespeople find themselves frustrated in jobs where they don't fit in and can't succeed. Using research by the Gallup organization, authors Benson Smith and Tony Rutigliano explain why many organizations handicap themselves with underperforming sales forces. Here's how sales managers and salespeople can turn mediocrity into success. We say this is a must-read for anyone in sales.

4-0 out of 5 stars interesting

2-0 out of 5 stars A political communicator as the author
Many of the reviews seemed to consider more the network marketing aka MLM in general than the book itself. I think that the Excel Communications was a very well timed and well implemented business idea that worked.
5-0 out of 5 stars 21 years old and almost financially free with Excel
This was a recap of the history of Excel. If growing to 1 Billion in sales faster than any company in history doesn't impress you maybe this will. I think that most people who bad mouth this book or MLM in general have failed themselves. Maybe only a small percentage of people find financial independence in MLM, but that's the same deal with any new venture. Those that fail have quit, because the only way to fail in Excel is to quit. If your new Micky D's franchise fails, does that mean that Micky D's doesn't work. I think the problem is, YOU DON'T WORK. People by nature hate blaming themselves. I am 21, a university student and well on my way to never working again for the rest of my life. If you want to learn how, i'll tell you my big secret, I WORK!

5-0 out of 5 stars An Excel Rep, Biased but Financially Free
This book was obviously written to not only to give a historical view of the company but to promote it to others. Excel and network marketing are amazing in the way they give motivated people the opportunity to have money and time freedom. I am a 21 year old college student and i am well on my way to never working a real job again. Those who are nay sayers or bad mouth this company or MLM as a whole are the ones who have failed. They'll be the same ones after they open a million dollar franchise who fail and tell you franchising doesn't work. I've got news for you, YOU DIDN'T WORK! MAYBE THE FACT THAT YOU CAN'T BLAME YOURSELF IS THE REASON FOR YOUR FAILURE!Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic book
This is a perfect example of edutainment at its best.Terrfic fun while simultaneously teaching you a great deal about the key factors that determine a teams win rate.Aside from the style and the analysis this book also does something even more valuable: It highlights a management approach that is truly based on merit, as opposed to how "pretty" an athelete is or how much charisma they have. For people who believe that the USA is as close as any country to being a meritocracy - this book is a shining example of just that.I am truly astonished and dismayed by the negative reviews I have read.I can't wait for Lewis to write his next book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Reveals More About Baseball
Money Ball was a great book. It shows that you don't need money to win in baseball(take that Yankees ;-P) Michael Lewis reavels that the team with the 2nd lowest payroll, the Oakland Athletics, can have so much dominance and success in a game where the best baseball players usually end up with the richest team. Lewis also tells the story of Billy Beane the GM of the Athletics. Billy's bad attitude and foul temper prevented him from making in the MLB. He exerts his attitude as a force over the so-called "experts" when a desicion must be made. Billy constanly goes against what the scouts think a drafts players that nobody has heard of. He shows that there are many aspects of the game that we don't know. All in all, this was an excellant book. My only complaint was that there was a lot of swearing.--- Jesse Hartman

5-0 out of 5 stars This is a great read!
If you are a fan, this is a great read.If you are not a fan, but just interested in the game, it is still a great read. What I find most amusing are the baseball "experts" who poo-poo Billy Bean's approach to fielding and running a baseball team."The proof of the pudding is in the eatin'" and the cognocenti appear to dislike the taste. The Oakland A's have been one of the stellar teams, yet, it appears that success is not what is important. What is important is success based on the recipe that the "experts" write. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Common sense is not always common knowledge
I have to chuckle when I read reviews that say this is all common sense. I do agree that it is not all new. And I do agree that it is a lot of common sense, but not necessarily common knowledge.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent book by the master of business turn-around
While Brian Tracy is known primarily as a master motivator and sales trainer, how many know that Brian is also a master of business strategy?
5-0 out of 5 stars Motivational, Practical, Valuable
I first read this book several years ago and find that I keep picking it up. The laws are short and easy to read. So, if I want to focus on, say, optimism, then I read those few pages and think about it for awhile. Any book that I pick up so frequently and appreciate so much appreciates at least this brief review. Good work, Mr. Tracy! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A great tool
I inherited this tape series from a colleague who never wanted it back.I have learned so much from it and always refer back to it.The tapes are very worn out so I will purchase new ones.If you are stressed out I highly recommend you go out and find this series.

5-0 out of 5 stars Life Changing When Applied
I purchased this audio cassette set several years ago and listened to it many times.Recently, I listened once again.I realized that I had adopted some of his principles and benefited. The key word in his title ismanagement. He teaches us that stress cannot be eliminated--only managed. His personal illustrations will touch your heart and make you laugh andcry. He tells us that having children is the best and the worst thing wewill ever do; he cautions us about "Hoover"ing (vacuuming up)others' problems and claiming as our own. He teaches us to listen and notto offer advice. You will enjoy his personal stories about getting lockedout of his hotel room and his graduate class in Sweden. In both cases, theabsence of clothing gives the listener hilarous illustrations that makethese cassettes entertaining. His simple philosophies are powerful, valuable, and realistic.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent stress management techniques for work and home.
We first listened to these tapes about ten years ago. They were loaned to us by a friend. They made such a lasting impression! When we reached a point in our lives where new stressors were becoming over-powering, wesearched and located a new copy of these audiotapes. We highly recommendthese tapes for anyone who wants to learn how to remain functional withtoday's stresses. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Communicate Better
This book really helps me communicate better. I've never read most of the ideas in this book, and I read a lot!5-0 out of 5 stars Persuasion Volume 2!
This book probably should have been titled, The Psychology of Persuasion Volume Two. It really is quite good. I bought it for the body language information and was not disappointed. 5-0 out of 5 stars Psychology of Persuasion: The Sequel
I agree with others that this is Rocky II. A more spiritual sequel to the Psychology of Persuasion than one might have expected but quite good nevertheless.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Essential for ESL instructors teaching business courses
This book [and separate tape are] essential for ESL/EFL teachers who teach intermediate or advanced communications courses. Each chapter focuses on a business theme such as negotiation, business meetings, telephoning. The tapes are slow for learners above an intermediate level; however, the speaking activities can easily be used by both intermediate and advanced learners. One good aspect of the tapes is the British Accents which makes a nice contrast to my North American accent for learners in EFL situations. You can even stretch certain exercises into writing exercises. However, the book lacks any structured grammar lessons. At an intermediate level in some contexts you might find the book a bit thin because of this. The teachers guide is unfortunately essential because you often can't complete exercises without having the companioned instructions.Which means more of a cost outlay for some teachers. This book absolutely cannot be used for self-study or one-on-ones.Nevertheless, it is the best resource I've had for these types of courses so far.Definitely worth investing in. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Become a Brag!
It's one of those dreaded moments.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good hints on how to tell your story
The basic gist of this book (tape) is that you need to be intentional about how you tell your story, so that it is positive and memorable. It's punctuated with real life stories and examples of how your story can be improved through a little thought and practice. ... Read more
